Videoblog like a superstar with Video Elements Theme

Videoblogging is very popular these days. Text blogging simply doesn’t do it anymore these days. But finding a decent video-blogging theme is not that easy. Most coders are still coding for text bloggers. And those who are writing video-blog themes often ask for a lot of money. But Video Elements is one of those themes that is not only attractive but also very cheap ($75).

Video Elements is a 2-column vlogging theme that allows you to post your videos and have them rated by your users. The rating system is built in under each post.

The featured section was a little bit tough to figure out. My images kind of got stretched when they were not the same size as specified in the theme’s code. But that was expected. I also had a little trouble with long titles as the sidebar got a bit messy. But as long as you keep your post headlines relatively short, you are going to be fine.

The videos were easy to embed and you can customize the thumbnails with a custom field that is offered with the theme. The theme is made with videobloggers in mind. Video Elements currently supports Flickr Video, Google Video, MetaCafe, MySpace Video, Revver, Seesmic, YouTube, Veoh, Viddler, Vimeo, 12seconds.tv and FLV (Flash Video). I have personally not used anything other than YouTube, MetaCafe, and FLV, but you can definitely use the other sites if you prefer.

Verdict: 4/5. Video Elements is a very attractive theme for hybrid bloggers (video + text). You also have a gallery style featured videos section that makes the blog very attractive. The price is not that high which makes this affordable to most bloggers. You may want to invest in a logo, though you can use the information in the documentation to find the font used to create the default logo for this them.
