We keep hearing about WordPress sites getting hacked frequently. The mere fact that WordPress is a very popular content management system makes the sites running on it a target for hackers. We have covered plenty of ways you can go about hardening WordPress. You may also want to think about hiding certain information about your site. Hiding the WordPress login page, version, and other features might keep hackers at bay. Here are 5 plugins you can use to hide WordPress features:

Hiding the fact that your using WordPress isn't the solution. WordPress core is very secure. Your better off spending more time making sure that you've done what you can to secure your WordPress, use the latest version, delete the admin user, use a strong password, install login limit etc.

@Paul. I agree. It does not make your site hacker-proof. But I don't think we said it would. You still have to harden your site, secure your server, and do more to handle sophisticated hack attacks. There are very good reasons to hide the fact that you are running WordPress though (other than security).

So please could you specify what those very good reasons are, Cyrus?
